The objective of this proposal is to train, assist and provide the 25 Special Education Teachers of Schools in the Educational Region of Mayaguez, the knowledge in math skills, necessary to succeed and dominate their work as educators and evaluators, to improved the academic achievement of students.

​

1. A 80% of participants approved 31 credits of specialty courses in secondary mathematics in school management, school supervision and leadership during the project period.

 

2. Participants must attend from 80 to 96 contact hours of workshops designed to strengthen their adaptation of skills, educational assessment, teaching strategies in mathematics and its effective implementation through their school practice.

3. That 100% of participants in their schools, are visited by professors from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, to monitor the application of knowledge and skills acquired through various project activities.

​

4. Ensure that 50% of teaching and the development of mathematical skills increase in participants, through follow-up visits, talks, interviews and analysis of materials and documents.

​

5. Assess student performance and design effectiveness assessments of project activities through interviews and visits to the classrooms of a representative sample of 50% of these.
